How to get to
Roatan and Turquoise Bay Resort
The
Island of Roatan
Turquoise Bay Resort is located in the Bay Islands of Honduras on
the island of Roatan. Roatan is about thirty miles north of the
mainland Honduras. Roatan, the largest of the Bay Islands, is about
thirty miles long but only between two to three miles wide. There
are numerous bays accessible through various channels in the reef
that surround the island. The reef drops off vertically to the deep
abyss offering some of the most spectacular wall diving in the
world. A modern international airport is located near the municipal
town of Coxen Hole on the south-western side of the island with
daily direct flights from several U.S. cities.
Turquoise
Bay Resort
Is
located in a protected cove, sheltered by a natural mangrove
peninsula and the offshore coral reef, near the village of Milton
Bight on the north-eastern side of the island about 15 minutes east
past the town of French Harbor. You reach the resort leaving the
main road and driving down the hill from where you get a spectacular
view over the resort and the lagoon.
