New Flight to Roatan on Cayman Airways

Cayman Airways has just announced a new route to Roatan. This new flight will help connect the islands, which are both popular amongst regular visitors to the Caribbean. This new flight to Roatan is a welcome addition to the many other gateways Roatan already enjoys.

New Flight to Roatan

The twice-weekly service will begin in March 2017, but tickets can now be purchased on the Cayman Airways website. Flights will depart from Grand Cayman for Roatan on Thursdays and Saturdays at 6:50pm. Flights will depart Roatan for Grand Cayman at 7:35am on Fridays and Sundays. The flight duration is only 1:10, but keep in mind the time zone difference is one hour as well.

Roatan receives regular flights from the following airlines and cities:

  • American Airlines flies to direct to Roatan from Miami and Dallas
  • Delta Airlines flies direct to Roatan from Houston
  • United Airlines flies direct to Roatan from Atlanta
  • Sunwing flies direct to Roatan from Montreal and Toronto
  • Transat Airways flies direct to Roatan from Montreal, Quebec, and Toronto

Domestic Flights to Roatan

There are multiple domestic airlines in Honduras that offer services to Roatan, including CM Airways, SOSA Airlines, and Islena Airlines. These airlines can connect the Bay Islands to the major cities on mainland Honduras. Fly internationally into Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, or La Ceiba and catch an affordable domestic flight onward to Guanaja, Roatan, or Utila.

Other Ways to Get to Roatan

Don’t forget you can take the Galaxy Wave ferry from La Ceiba to Roatan, which operates twice daily (except in inclement weather). Alternatively, you can travel to Roatan from Utila aboard the Utila Dream or other charter boats or planes.
